 Lower Manhattan Dialysis offers Daily Home Hemodialysis.
Short dialysis treatments are performed at home 6 days a week.
Instead of experiencing the “peaks-and-valleys” of conventional 3 days-a-week dialysis,
which allows toxins, impurities and excess fluid to build up in your body for days
in-between dialysis treatments, our Daily Home Hemodialysis program is more like
having healthy kidneys which wash your body of harmful impurities almost every day.

they felt before they ever had kidney disease! Improvements in appetite, energy, sexual function and restful sleep are common in
people who undergo  short daily dialysis treatments. Diet is not as restricted – patients in the Daily Home Hemodialysis program
can now enjoy a broad range of foods, and phosphate binders are often discontinued. The gentle nature of the short daily
hemodialysis treatments also means that patients feel well enough after dialysis to go straight to work. No longer do they
have to rest for hours to recover after each dialysis session! And patients are generally thrilled that they can dialyze
any time of the day, and can schedule their dialysis around their other daily activities.
Lower Manhattan Dialysis uses the NxStage System for its Daily Home Hemodialysis program.
The NxStage System is small and portable enough to take on vacation! And the system is easy to use,
allowing for quick set-up and take-off times.  Almost anyone can learn how to dialyze with the NxStage System.
Training generally takes 3-4 weeks. Patients are required to have a “partner” who will be home during each treatment.
No significant plumbing or electrical modifications are required.
